Wayne Baker is a life long volunteer who has been involved with many disasters from hurricanes to earthquakes. |

Emergency Medical Services
1st Lt. Rafael Garcia rescued a woman who was trapped in a roll-over crash. He was able to extract her from the car, performed CPR and kept her neck secure until the paramedics arrived. |

Firefighter
Kevin Ferguson is a firefighter who responded to a 911 call about carbon monoxide poisoning. He was initially unable to locate the caller but discovered that several apartments were being heated with the oven. His persistence led to the discovery of a total of 10 people who were treated for carbon monoxide poisoning. |

Good Samaritan (Adult)
Dr. Andru Ziwasimon is a physician who operates a clinic in the South Valley that treats patients with little or no insurance. |

Law Enforcement
Sgt. Joe Harris was killed in the line of duty while attempting to arrest a suspect breaking into a cabin in the Jemez Mountains. |

Rick Iannucci operates Heroes for Horses, a program intended to help returning veterans cope with the stress of integrating back into civilian life. |

Judy & Dick Opsahl volunteered at a Red Cross shelter during the Cerro Grande fire even after they learned their home had burned to the ground. |
